Circuit Court Law Day November 6

During a large Circuit Court Law Day on Tuesday, Nov. 6, the following individuals were sentenced to the Department of Corrections: 

Marlin Estes, 47, Everton, was sentenced to five years in prison for DWI-Serious Physical Injury. The offense occurred in March 2017 and the case was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. 

Angelica Shields, 45, Ava, was sentenced to five years in prison for possession of methamphetamine after violating probation. That sentence was suspended and Shields was ordered to complete 120 days institutional treatment within the Department of Corrections. The original offense occurred April 2016 and was investigated by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department. 

Stetson Levelle, 21, Ava was sentenced to 120 days in prison for 2nd Degree Burglary after admitting to violating his probation.  Levelle was ordered to court ordered detention sanction within the Department of Corrections. The original offense occurred in February 2017 and was jointly investigated by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department and Ava Police Department. 

There was a total of 86 felony cases on the docket. Eight felony guilty pleas were entered, one misdemeanor guilty plea was entered and two cases were probation revocations.
