Gamma Phi Speaker Highlights Wellness & Longevity

The Cabool Gamma Phi members led the program titled “Prevention Health” for the September 8th meeting held at the Cabool United Methodist Church.  A Gamma Phi guest, Juliet (Ellsworth) Vonallmen, Cabool, shared a personal spiritual family message as the devotion.  Neil Hamilton, Cabool, sang a cappella  “Thank God For Kids” as the special music selection. Janice Lowe, member, shared member reorientation information as the Point of Emphasis section of the program. Guest speaker Deanna Thompson, Registered Dietician, shared a PowerPoint titled Wellness and Longevity including topics on life expectancy, nutrition, healthy habits, chronic conditions, Mediterranean diet, and more. She also shared health care directive information.

The Delta Kappa Gamma Gamma Phi 2018-19 theme is “Think Outside the Box” and the luncheon table decorations included all kinds of boxes (lunch, hat, jewelry, toy, tool, etc.) and fall decorations of sunflowers and apples.  A delicious lunch including roast beef, vegetables, salad and rolls, and a dessert bar was prepared and served by the Cabool United Methodist Eunice Whittaker Circle Ladies.

The Delta Kappa Gamma Society Mission is to promote professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education.  The next Gamma Phi meeting will be Saturday, November 10. Ava members include:  Gina Clinkingbeard, Natalie Cook, Chapter Corresponding Secretary;  Imogene Ewing, Suzette Litwiller and Mindy Pinckney, Chapter President.
