Caney News – Janice Lafferty

Caney Church met Wed. evening to praise the Lord and learn more about His Word.

We began with Bro. Jim Lafferty taking prayer requests/praise reports. Sis. Melba Austin led in prayer.

Bro. Jim read Jeremiah 26:8-15.

God will fight our battles when we trust in Him. We need to amend our ways and follow God’s Word. We can certainly see today that the world’s ways are not something good to follow.

We had a good discussion. Good scripture was read and everyone had interesting thoughts. It is good to hear different thoughts and ideas. We learn a lot that way.

Sis. Melba taught our youth a good lesson.

Sunday School opened with a song.

Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. Prayer requests/praise reports received. We have many concerns. Bro. Jeff Shipley led in prayer.

Jack read Psalm 33:1-9 for our devotion. The Lord made it all. We have much to be thankful for. Let’s praise Him.

We had a great Sunday School lesson. We had a time of testimony from Elsie Comer, Jeff Shipley.

Service continued with congregational singing.

Special music Melissa Harmon, Melba Austin.

Pastor Bill Austin spoke this morning. The scripture he used was 1 Corinthians 15:58, Matthew 20: 1-9, 25:15.

As Christians, there is a work for all to do. We each have a job we can do. There is a payday for those that do the Father’s work.

Let’s be workers for Christ. Use your talent the Lord has blessed you with. Visit, preach, clean, sing – you’ll be rewarded for your effort.

A great message and service today.

Sunday evening service began with singing. Pastor Bill welcomed everyone. Sis. Janice Lafferty led in prayer. Special music by Kathleen Chaney. Bro. Jack Essary spoke Sunday evening. Hisscripture was II Peters 2:1-22. God didn’t spare the angels that sinned. He cast them into hell. He will send all those that don’t believe to the same place. Don’t let false prophets fool you. Read your Bible and know the truth. If you don’t have time for Him He won’t have time for you. We are nothing without the Spirit of God dwelling in us. Know this, we will spend eternity somewhere. You make the choice here and now.

A spirit filled message the world needed to hear.

Come see and hear what God can do for you. You are welcome at Caney Church.
