Quad Cities – Martha Twitty

Well, hello again. I’m updating my calendar for all the appointments we have this month. Walt’s had 2 appts. with his eye doctor. The first time he told Walt he couldn’t drive except for around town here, so I had to call and cancel his appointment at the V.A. Clinic in Bettendorf. I treated Walt’s eyes for a week with eye drops & then he went back & the doctor said he’s free to drive out of town again. So I’m trying to get him set up to go on the 22nd when I go to the Endocrine Clinic. They’re both in Bettendorf and close together so it would really be good if we can go on the same day.

There’s so much traffic along that strip I practically hold my breath when we’re driving it. I went to my doctor here in Tipton the 9th for my routine blood work, my broken toe, and still trying to find out what’s making me nauseous all the time now. It’s been going on for almost 2 months I think. My doctor has done two tests on me and has one set up Monday at the Hospital and Clinics in Muscatine. First, I have to go for consultation and get set up for a colonoscopy, then I have to go back to another section and drink the dye for a stomach scan, then get my toe x-rayed to see if it’s healing properly, and also a chest x-ray. It will be a busy day, but I hope they find out what’s wrong. My ears had a lot of wax in them when I went to the doctor here so the nurse tried to clean them out but didn’t get much so the doctor gave me a bunch of ear drops to loosen it up and I’m supposed to use 5 drops in each ear twice a day for 10 days, then I guess I’ll go back and see if the nurse can get the rest of it out. I’m sure it’s impairing my hearing at least some. Then I hope I can get his appt. for V.A. on the 22nd.

Walt’s birthday was on Aug. 6th and he’s 88 years young, or as he says, “8 + 8 = 16.”

On Sat. the 4th, his daughter Berta & husband Denny came out here from East Moline and they brought Walt’s brother Frank Dee with them & Walt’s son, Randy, parked his semi at the truck stop & rode out here with them as a surprise. Berta brought a delicious cake and he got other gifts and cards. It was really nice and Walt enjoyed it a lot. Then my daughter Anita, great-grandson Jacob & his girlfriend, came out and just missed them because I forgot to tell her it was at the Tipton Family Restaurant instead of Muscatine. Denny is getting cataracts off his eyes this month.

I trust you Jesus and I believe in angels. Take care of yourselves and each other. Bye-bye for now.
