Quad Cities – Martha Twitty 8.9.18

Hello again: Not too much going on right now, I guess. The weather’s been nicer except for the terrible tornadoes that just about destroyed one town west of here & others did a lot of damage to other towns. We didn’t get anything here. It’s been cooler, but getting ready to turn hot again.

This is summer though, what’s left of it anyway. We had to make that dreaded trip to the V.A. Clinic last week. It’s a 100 mile round trip & just about more than Walt can handle these days. They just took lab work that day. We have to go back soon and talk to his new doctor. It’s a woman and he’s not too happy about that. He said, “I don’t want a woman examining me!” I told him I’ve had men doctors examining me most of my life.

We will meet the new doctor and get copies of what all was found out in the lab work. They give him printed copies of all of it. It’s usually all good but the last two times his cholesterol has been too high so he has meds for that too now. He doesn’t have to take many. Just two for blood pressure and now the Lipitor and of course his inhaler.

My nurse called me to tell me they had a recall on a blood pressure medicine and they would call in another one for me so I told her my toe is still swollen and red and I don’t know how long it takes it to mend & she said, “It will take it a long time, it’s just been a month.” I asked her if there was anything  I was supposed to be doing for it, & she said, “Stay off it.” So I’m trying, but it’s impossible. We had to go grocery shopping yesterday and one of those plastic strips fell off the front of a shelf and hit me right on my sore toe and it’s been hurting ever since.

I trust you, Jesus, and I believe in angels. Take care of yourselves and each other &  bye-bye for now.
