Erica Velma Riley

Erica Velma Riley of Quincy, Calif., passed away Jan. 6, 2017.
Velma was born July 18, 1931, the daughter of Eathel and Dortha Brentlinger of Ava, Mo. She married Earl L. Riley after graduating from Ava High School.
They moved to southern California where she was a telephone operator for many years and raised her four children. In the most recent years, she has been a receptionist at the Greenhorn Creek Guest Ranch near Quincy, Calif., owned by daughter Trish and her husband Ralph Wilburn.
She loved to sew and quilt and be with her family. She will be remembered as a loving wife and caring mother.
Velma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl L. Riley; and one brother, Edwin Brentlinger.
She is survived by her four children: Mike (Jenny) Riley, of Temecula, Calif., Dave (Cathy) Riley, of Meadow Valley, Calif., John (Mickey) Riley, of EI Dorado Hills, Calif., and Trish (Ralph) Wilburn, of Greenhorn Creek Guest Ranch. She is also survived by one sister, LaVelle (Bud) Clinkingbeard, of Ava, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A graveside memorial service will be held Monday, Sept. 25 at 10 a.m. in the Brushyknob Cemetery, Douglas County, Mo. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Mo. Online condolences may be made to www.clinkingbeardfuneralhome.com.
