Three Will Serve Sentences In Douglas Co. Jail

During Judge Elizabeth Bock’s Associate Court Day on Aug. 17, there were 131 cases on the docket. There were 94 misdemeanor cases, 25 felony cases and 12 infractions.
There were 22 misdemeanor and/or infraction guilty pleas, and 24 failure to appear warrants were issued. There were also six felony cases that waived preliminary hearing and are now in Circuit Court.
Tyler Dooms, 21, Ava, was sentenced to two days in the Douglas County Jail for the misdemeanor of operating a vehicle without a valid license. The offense occurred in May of 2017 and was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Michael S. Evans, 38, West Plains, was sentenced to eight days in the Douglas County Jail for the misdemeanor of operating a vehicle without a valid license and eight days for the misdemeanor of no insurance. The sentences will run concurrently.
The offenses occurred in July of 2016 and was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Kevin Hansen, 47, Ava, was sentenced to 15 days in the Douglas County Jail for the misdemeanor of possession of jail contraband. The offense occurred in January of 2017 and was investigated by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department.
Of the 22 guilty pleas, six were for possession of marijuana or possession of drug paraphernalia.
