Douglas County Ranks 2nd Statewide In Child Support Enforcement

The Missouri Department of Child Support Enforcement released its annual report for fiscal year 2017. The Douglas County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office ranked 2nd out of 56 offices statewide for percentage of cases paying. The office has collected $164,208.05 for fiscal year 2017 which runs from July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017. The Savannah Regional Child Support Prosecutor was first and the Hamilton Regional Prosecutor was third.
“I am very proud of this accomplishment,” says Douglas County Prosecutor Chris Wade. “Martha works very hard on the child support cases and she deserves a lot of credit for this recognition.”\
Martha Esterline is the child support technician at the prosecutor’s office. She is the only support staff for child support.
“We were better than every county prosecutor’s office in the state and better than all but one regional prosecutor,” said Wade. “Regional prosecutor’s handle no other type of cases except child support. So for us to be second in the state is a very good accomplishment.”
