BOOKS-N-BITS From the Douglas County Public Library

We certainly enjoyed having Elizabeth Brown visit the Douglas County Public Library last month to show us the art of glass etching. And we loved having families visit to see John and Marilyn Slator and their dog, Majik, who performed all sorts of tricks. We are happy to have Marie Bristol come to the library for our final program this year to give a presentation on Laura Ingalls Wilder, as this is the l50th anniversary of her birth. This program will be Thursday, Aug. 24, at 7 p.m. at the library. All are welcome to attend, and admission is free. We had a great time with all the children who attended all of our summer reading programs this year. We would like to thank McDonald’s, Ava Water Park, Town and Country Bank, the Douglas County Health Department, Rebecca Smith with the Douglas County Extension Service, and the Friends of the Library for helping to make it all a success.
