Heart of the Ozarks Postpones 4th of July Event Until July 28
The annual Independence Day Celebration at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center scheduled for last Friday night, June 30, was postponed because of weather and has been rescheduled for Friday, July 28. The nursing home had previously set tomorrow, Friday, July 7, as a rain date but due to the availability of the fireworks company, extended the date to July 28.
Moving the event to the end of the month gives everyone time to adjust their plans and gives vendors and exhibitors time to regroup and prepare for a super celebration on July 28.
Heavy rain that moved through the Ava area last Friday morning prevented early setup for the Heart of the Ozarks celebration that takes hours to complete. That, along with the threat of more rain and dangerous storms later in the day on Friday forced the postponement of the event. More rain and storms did move through the area later Friday night and into Saturday morning, but skies cleared and the Squires celebration went on as planned Saturday night.
In the meantime, Sweden Church east of Ava has their big July 4 event coming up this Saturday night, July 8. The celebration will feature music by Bob Hammons and Wildwood, homemade ice cream and fireworks at dark. New Mansion General Baptist Church near Bradleyville also has a big celebration planned this Sunday, July 9, beginning at 6 o’clock and ending with fireworks at 9:30. ??Maybe…Other events that were rained out…….
