Council Holds Closed Session on July 14

Hiring a part-time employee for the utility window at City Hall was the reason for the called city council session on Friday, July 14. Mayor David Norman reports councilmen approved hiring Stacy Smith to fill the new position, and she will start on Monday, July 31.

According to Norman, this part-time position is being implemented to allow for in-house cross-training of the city utility billing process.

Smith was hired through Penmac Staffing of Ava.

Later this month, on July 25, the board of aldermen will convene for regular session.
