Our morning started with prayer. Then Sister Norma read our devotions from Luke, then we lifted our prayer requests up to our Lord.
Sister Linda taught the adult Sunday school class from Galatians chapter 2, starting in verse 6. Sister Susan taught the youth Sunday school class from Mark chapter 6, verses 34-44.
There were many special songs this morning, Sister Linda, Sister Norma and Sister Susan all sang for the Lord.
Pastor Lonnie brought God’s message from Exodus chapter 23, verses 1-2, “Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.” With the best of intentions we can say the most damaging words. We can say we have forgiven, but if we continue to tear someone down, do we still hold resentment? Are we saying “I can forgive, but I can’t forget”? What if God forgave us the same way we forgive others?
We joined our friends at Happy Home for dinner after service today. It was a wonderful time of fellowship.
Our evening service started with prayer. Then we lifted our requests to our Lord. Brother Bill gave a wonderful testimony about paying more attention to God during service. Do whatever you have to block out distractions. It may be as simple as sitting in a different place every service. Just make sure your focus is on God.
Special songs were sung by Sister Susan, Sister Linda and Sister Norma. Sister Naomi gave a testimony and sang a chorus from an old song.
Brother Scotty brought the message from II Timothy, chapter 4, verses 1-8. He spoke on how people do not want to hear the true word of God. They want it watered down to make them feel good, but we have been charged to spread God’s true gospel. We must preach sound doctrine. If we truly love our fellow man, we will tell them the truth that will save their souls. “That none should perish.”
