Winter made a bold arrival in this area last Saturday night with light snowfall and plummeting temperatures. The snowfall was hardly significant, measuring only about one-quarter inch officially. But with temperatures dropping almost 50 degrees overnight there is little doubt that the winter season is here. MoDOT crews worked overnight and had main highways mostly clear but secondary roads such as this one remained snowcovered Sunday morning. This picture was taken on East Highway 76 Sunday morning.
