Delmer Max Hancock

Delmer Max Hancock, 79 years, 2 months, 15 days old, passed away on Oct. 6, 2016, at Autumn Oaks Caring Center, Mtn. Grove, Mo.

Max was born July 22, 1937 in Gentryville, Mo., to William B. and Alta Mae (Leroy) Hancock.

Max was U.S. Navy veteran. He was retired from Braniff Airlines in Oklahoma working as an administrative clerk. After leaving Oklahoma he returned home in Missouri to work on the family farm.

Max was a Christian. He enjoyed being in the outdoors and he loved to golf, hunt, fish and talk football. Max also loved his dalmation dogs!

Max was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters, Sylvia Rollins, Mary Latham, and Ada Dobbs.

Max is survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A celebration of life for Max will be Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Home Cemetery, Gentryville, Mo., with military honors by the Troy Herd American Legion Post 112. Officiating will be Rev. Ray Dobbs. Services and cremation per Max’s wishes are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Mo.
