Letter to the Editor – Thompson 8.18.2016

Dear Editor:

Some things the general public probably does not know:

The ABC News executive producer Ian Cameron is married to Susan Rice, National Security Adviser.

CBS President David Rhodes is the brother of Ben Rhodes, Obama’s Deputy National Security Adviser for Strategic Communications.

ABC Newscorrespondent Claire Shipman is married to former Whitehouse Press Secretary Jay Carney.

ABC News and Univision reporter Matthew Jaffe is married to Katie Hogan, Obama’s Deputy Press Secretary.

ABC President Ben Sherwood is the brother of Obama’s Special Adviser Elizabeth Sherwood.

CNN President Virginia Moseley is married to former Hillary Clinton’s Deputy Secretary Tom Nides.

Could there be a little bias in the news?

Edward “Ed” Mezvinsky, Democratic U.S. congressman for Iowa 1973-77. A friend of the Clintons for many years. He had an affair with NBC News reporter Marjorie Sue Margolies and later married her after his wife divorced him.

In 1993, she was a freshman Democrat in Congress and cast the deciding vote that got President Bill Clinton’s controversial tax package through the House of Representatives.

In March 2001, Ed Mezvinsky was indicted and later pleaded guilty to 31 of 69 counts of bank fraud, mail fraud, and wire fraud. Ed Mezvinsky embezzled more than $10 million dollars from people via both a Ponzi scheme and the notorious Nigerian e-mail scams. He was found guilty and sentenced to 80 months in federal prison. After serving less than five years he was released in April 2008 and remains on federal probation. He still owes $9.4 million in restitution to his victims.

Ed Mezvinsky is Chelsea Clinton’s father-inlaw, she is married to his son, Marc Mezvinsky. They bought a $10.5 million dollar NYC apartment (after being married in George Soros’ mansion).

Have you heard anything about this in the news? No double standards in political reporting?
