Joie Welker opened our morning service with prayer and after singing, our lesson in Sunday school class was “Sharing With Others,” we must develop an attitude of giving and sharing with those in need.

We welcome you to Wednesday night Bible study in the book of James at 7 p.m.

Our third Friday night singing is Sept. 18th at 7 p.m. with snacks and fellowship afterward.

Saturday, September 19th, Gentry is hosting pizza for the kids at Incrediable Pizza at 11 a.m. The parents are responsible for their own food.

Sunday at the church we celebrated Grandparent’s Day. All the young kids sang a song then passed out cupcakes to Grandparens with a little survival kit.

Special song was by the Quartet of Faye Allen, Wanda Casady, Rod and Joie Welker.

Our guest speaker Sunday morning was from the Gideons, Tom Bentley. He told how their work was so rewarding, Bibles make a difference in lives and is the ground work of human freedom.

In our evening service, our special song was by the Gentry Singers.

Pastor Huskey’s evening message was from I Peter 4:12. Keep our eyes upon Jesus to guide us through by His Holy Spirit against the force of evil in this world. Walk as a church together.

We had had many prayer requests going forth in our services and it was good to see Sharon (Welker) Lee back in service after major surgery and I have been staying with my granddaughter, Hannah Reich, a few days in Branson as she is home recovering very well from having a rare cancer removed from her right lung and bronchial tube. The families appreciate everyone for all their prayers on their behalf. There is power in prayer.

I spent a few days in Branson with my brother and his wife, Warren and Diane Henderson from Bella Vista, Arkansas. We attended the gospel singing at Silver Dollar City.
