Fred E. Perry

Fred Ernest Perry, 87 years, 1 month, passed away on Feb. 11, 2015 at his home with his wife, Leota, and daughter, Laura, by his side.
Fred was born Jan. 11, 1928 in Turin, Iowa to Fred Earl and Ella Ellen (Hyatt) Perry.
Fred was retired from working at Emerson Electric for several years. Fred was a resident of the Ava community since 1979 moving from Iowa. He was an Army veteran and served in WWII.
On June 2, 1957 Fred and Leota Rae Goochey were united in marriage in Sabetha, Kan., and to this union four children were born. He enjoyed being outside and planting his flowers. He also loved his white long haired cats and his Chihuahua dogs. Fred was a Christian and a member of the Harvest Project Revival Center in Mansfield, Mo.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Verna Jean; four sisters and two brothers.
Fred is survived by his wife, Leota Perry, Ava, Mo.; seven children, Laura Downey and husband, Mike, Ava, Mo., Kevin Perry and wife, Candace, Iowa, Norman Perry, Kansas City, Mo., Marilyn Brown, Washington, Velma Young, Oregon, Raymond Perry and Jerry Brown; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer, David, Jerry, Josh, Vincent, Angel, Alex, Crystal, Tiffany and Cody; 13 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A Memorial will be scheduled at a later date and time. Cremation services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Mo.
