Julia Carryl Brown, 67

Julia Carryl (Bradley) Brown was born the daughter of Wilford Woodrow “Bill” Bradley and Mona Belle (Warrick) Bradley on May 31, 1947, at Gainesville, Mo., and departed this life on Jan. 18, 2015, at Springfield, Mo., at the age of 67 years.
She was united in marriage to Ralph Lee Brown, Dec. 11, 1964 in rural Douglas County, Mo., making their lifelong home and work in Ozark County.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Ralph Brown; son Travis Lee Brown; one granddaughter, Ashton Brown, and one grandson, Dawson Brown; one great-granddaughter, Emree Hardison; and two sisters, Karen Cotham, of Thayer, Mo. and Billie Blair and her husband Arnold of Springfield, Mo.; several nieces, nephews, one special cousin, Jim Bradley of Springfield; other relatives and many, many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son Todd Allen Brown; her twin brother Jimmy Darryl Bradley; and one brother-in-law Gary Cotham.
She started working at the Ozark County Health Center in April of 1966, retiring in 2009 after 43 years. She worked as a clerk/typist billing for home health services and bookkeeping. Her co-workers loved her sharp sense of humor. After retiring she worked part time at Bryant Plastics. She was a member of the Ozark County Health Board. For nine years she was chairwoman to help organize the Hootin an Hollarin Parade. She was president of the Big Creek Ladies Golf Association in Mtn. Home, Ark.
She was deeply devoted to her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. She enjoyed working in her flowers, enjoyed her cats, dogs, the cattle and loved watching the birds. She collected glass fruit and loved collecting pretty dishes. She and Ralph enjoyed traveling and she loved to play golf. They had traveled to 48 states and six different countries playing golf. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed visiting with all her friends.
She was a Christian and a member of the Lilly Ridge General Baptist Church. She will truly be missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services for Carryl were held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015 at the Lilly Ridge General Baptist Church in Gainesville, Mo., with Bro. Dale Roberts officiating. Visitation was Tuesday from 11 a.m. to service time at the church. Burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
