William E. “Bill” Rogers

William E. “Bill” Rogers went to be with his heavenly father Nov. 30, 2014. Bill was born in Ravenden, Ark., on May 27, 1922 to Mae and Thurman Rogers. He married Loweta Luna on Jan. 7, 1953. They built a blissful life together of 61 years.
Bill retired from General Electric in 1986, and operated a lawn service until 1996 when he moved to Mountain Home. He worked for Kent Chevrolet for 21/2 years, but spent most of his time volunteering and helping others. He volunteered at the Van Matre Senior Center for five years and for the Hospital Auxiliary for several years, and had many hours of service.
Bill was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Loweta; his daughter, Deborah (Dale) Ray; his granddaughter, Jennifer (Steven) Heinlein; and his three great-grandchildren, Gracie, Corey and Cole Heinlein.
His great delight was his family and helping others.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, M.C. and Lavern Rogers, and Everett Evans.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation may be made to First Presbyterian Church or the Hospital Auxiliary.
A service to celebrate his life will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 4, at Kirby and Family Funeral Home Chapel with Nancy Taylor officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service.
Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.   Visit an online obituary and guestbook at www.kirbyand family.com.
