Prosecuting Attorney Cites Law Day Cases

Five Sentenced, Two from Ava

During Circuit Law Day on Tuesday, Nov. 4, the following defendants were sentenced to various terms to the Missouri Department of Corrections:

Cory Berry, 29, Ava, received a 4-year sentence for Tampering with a Motor Vehicle and a 4-year sentence for Resisting Arrest for events that occurred in September 2014. The sentences will run concurrent with each other. The case was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

John Carter, 45, Willow Springs, received a 5-year sentence for Possession of Controlled Substance. The incident occurred in June 2014 and was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Stephen Lansdown, 61, Mansfield received a 2-year sentence for 1st Degree Sexual Abuse. The incidents occurred in 2009 and the case was investigated by the Ava Police Department.

Ryan Moore, 32, Ava, received a 4-year sentence for Escape from Confinement. The escape occurred in October 2014 and Moore was eventually located in Christian County on the same day. The case was investigated by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. Moore also received a 4-year sentence for Possession of Methamphetamine Precursors and Drug Paraphernalia, which occurred in October of 2013 and was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Moore admitted to violating his probation by escaping confinement and the court ordered the previously imposed sentence of 4-years executed.

Zachary Sharp, 20, Mountain Grove, received a 5-year sentence for 2nd Degree Assault. The incident occurred in September of 2014 and was investigated by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
