Oak Grove News

We were very blessed this past Lord’s Day with several visitors from here in Ava and one from Texas, as well as, one from Arizona.

Our morning message was based on the illustration Jesus gave to his followers in Luke 6:46-49, entitled, “Why call you me, Lord, Lord?” After a description of how that same question is just as appropriate for us today we addressed by the following portion of the same passage which says, “And do not the things which I say.”

So if we call ourselves Christians we should “Do what he said.” That being; “Love the Lord thy God will all they heart, mind, soul and strength and your neighbor as yourself.” If we do that we don’t have any problems with the rest of the problems and temptations that come our way.

This Friday there will be a memorial service here at Oak Grove Church for Charles “Charlie” Huggins at 11:00 a.m. All are welcome to attend and dinner for famiy and friends will follow in the fellowship hall.
