The news of Geneva King’s death came Sunday as I got the call about noon. Services are to be held Wednesday, July 30th at 10:00 a.m. She had reached the age of 98 years last January 28th. Her son, David, phoned to tell me of her death Saturday night in their Hollister home. He has our sympathy in his loss. It seems such a short time ago when Jim King passed away.

Sympathy to Linda Harlin who lost her mother, who was 100 years old, and passed away July 18th.

Prayers are for Ama Larson who is in Mountain Home at Hiram Shaddox Geriatric Center. Also Maxine Smith in Good Samaritan Society for therapy.

Dave Davis had gall bladder surgery in Mountain Home July 10th and went back for another procedure last Tuesday.

Sunday afternoon Karen had to close up her booth at Hardy, Arkansas early as a storm blew in that area.

Sunday evening service will be “Sing and Share Time” and business meeting time. Also the drawing for the pretty quilt will be held also.

Sympathy to Judy Lyon and sisters in the loss of their mother, Elois Ford.

Doug and Karen Livingston and Austin brought Beulah and Mearl down from their home near Sparta and all attended church here Sunday.

Congratulations to Zack and Jenny Yarger who have a baby girl born July 21st named Ezra Marie.

Jean Suman attended the wedding of her great-nephew, Nathan and new wife, Madison (Krause) in Concordia, MO. Saturday. She and Helen Miles accompanied Steve and Debbie Robinson for the trip and Jean spent the night with her sister, Helen Miles, when they returned to Springfield, before driving home Sunday morning.

Friendly Neighbors Club has their monthly meeting this Thursday at the Health Center at 10:00 a.m. with Alice Hurley as hostess and program by Renae Hambelton on food demonstration. Our club is a charitable organization donating to local needs as well as out of area projects through the years.

Paralea Rea received a call Sunday from her great nephew, Zane Denton, thanking her for his birthday card on his 10th birthday July 22nd. His dad, Chad Denton, is a retired PBR and who is now a fire fighter in Berry Creek, CA.

Joining Gainesville couples from Gainesville who took a school bus with regular driver, my husband, Edlon Pitcock and I went to the Springfield Fair in 1939. Ther were three couples who were newlyweds in June 1939.
