Don't Miss

Last Weeks News – This week has been a busy one for this family due to the passing of our family/friend, Carl Peak. Our family grieves for our loss, but rejoice for Carl’s relief from pain and suffering. We celebrated his life on Monday then the family honored us with their presence at our home for supper that evening. We all visited and shared stories about Carl and the family while having an evening meal. We visited with loved ones we had not seen for a long time.

Monday night Connie Davis graced us with her overnight presence and we talked until almost sun up. We caught up on a lot of lost time.

On Sunday, Jack and Barbara Breshears, drove to Clinton, Mo. where they visited with Uncle Hugh and Aunt Violet Morris then spent the night in Clinton and visited some more on Monday morning and got some really good pictures of the lovebirds, even after being married for 75 years. It was so sweet to see the pictures.

On Wednesday, we enjoyed lunch with Vern and Kathleen Deatherage, Nora Hunsaker, Lee Williams, and Noah Deatherage.

Well, we hope to have a calmer week this week so until next week, just keep looking up.

This Weeks News – Sunday morning service was opened with a hymn then prayer and praise.

The Walnut Grove band provided music and hymns for the congregation.

Brother Waylon Souder sang about the long black train and he was joined by his wife Kami.

Brother Roberts brought the message from Matthew 25:14-30 and Luke19:12-13, “Do Business Until I Come.”

We had some visitors during the week, Vern and Noah Deatherage, Donna Bannister, Bevy Moore, Rusty and Becky Carter, Beth Stafford, Johnathon Snelson, Nora Hunsaker and Lee Williams.

We attended the benefit for Carl Peak which was held in Diggins. There were some very good bands and lots of good music by the bands, good food and a good auction of goods and homemade pies and cakes.

We stopped back through Mansfield and visited with my mom, Nora Hunsaker and Lee Williams.

On Sunday we went to church and when we got home my mom, Nora Hunsaker and Lee Williams were here. We enjoyed having them join us for lunch then a nice visit after lunch.

I have been busy making peach butter and getting ready to make some strawberry jam for the winter.

Until next week remember that it sometimes only takes a smile to make someone’s day.
