Hello from our home to your home. We have not enjoyed this heat. The weather is uncomfortable outside, so we are thankful for the coolness inside our home.
Our blossoms are withering in such extreme heat even with watering. It wasn’t so bad around 8 o’clock this evening. The staff feels the heat more than we do, they work hard to make us comfortable and happy.
We were surprised to see Mrs. Norma Stilling, Ombudsman for our home, with us on Friday. It was a pleasure as usual. We always expect her on Saturday and for awhile I thought I had my days mixed up, but she assured me it was Friday. She plays piano for Tom’s Bible Study on Saturday mornings and we help her sing.
We had a lot of help on our new jig-saw puzzle of all the beautiful rain boots and we finished it today. Another will be started soon.
Also, at 2 p.m. today Ava General Baptist was here for the afternoon service. We had good attendance and attention when Bro. Oren Alcorn brought the music and sermon Sunday afternoon. Larry and Pat Moore brought a wonderful Sunday School lesson about the change brought to a person’s life by being born again in Christ Jesus. It’s amazing. Some members told about lessons they had learned by experience in their early life. And we certainly enjoy Pat’s leading in music. Larry and Pat have a daughter in Foreign missions.
I noticed many visitors in the hallways mixing and mingling with friends and family and other residents. It is good to see the lively friendships.
We went outside to pick-up the Springfield paper and sat there to read the headlines and the temperture was perfect. I longed to preserve it.
We would like to welcome Carl Smith to our home, and we sincerely are going to miss our “Papa” Joe Davidson as he left Friday to go to the Veteran’s Retirement Home. We would also like to add that Carl Smith’s wife, Vena, passed away and she was so good to visit with all the residents.
God Bless You From Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center in Ava, MO.
