Caney Church met Wednesday to praise the Lord and learn more about His word. Pastor Bill Austin took prayer requests and praise reports. Bro. Jim Lafferty led in prayer. Help us pray for peace in Jerusalem. Bill read Psalm 139. God is with us wherever we go. He knows our thoughts and sees our deeds. If we ask, He will lead us. We had a good discussion on all scriptures read. We pray for more to come out and be with us. If your church doesn’t meet on Wednesday. We’d be glad for you to join us.
Our youth is studying and memorizing the 23rd Psalms.
Sunday school opened with singing praises to the Lord. Bro. Jack Essary welcome everyone. Prayer requests and praise reports were given. Sis. Janice Lafferty led in prayer. Jack read Luke 17:1-6 for our devotion.
After a good Sunday school lesson Maddie Shipley sang while offering was received.
Praise and Worship hour began with testimonies from Ethel Metcalf and Jeff Shipley. We progressed to congregational singing. Melissa Harmon did special music. Pastor Bill Austin spoke this morning from I Corinthians 14:7-8, uncertain sound. How will we recognize a song if not played right. Same way if we don’t study God’s word. How can we understand and teach it?
Sunday evening service began with singing. Bro. Jeff Shipley took prayer requests and praise reports. Bro. Hi Lambeth led in prayer. Wyatt Isaacs and Dylan Rogers recited the 23rd Psalm. Testimonies were given by Janie Lafferty and Melba Austin. Bro. Jim Lafferty was our speaker Sunday evening. He brought his message from I Corinthians 14:7-8, 15, Matthew 12:33-36 and Matthew 7:21. Can the world tell by the way you live and talk that you are trying to live for the Lord? By our words and deeds we will be judged. Not everyone that says Lord, Lord, will enter heaven. Don’t just talk the talk, walk the talk. Is your heart right with the Lord? Get ready He is coming. Are you making a distinctive sound.
Both messages today were from God called men. We are blessed to have men that trust in the Lord to give them the words to say. Come worship with us.
