Don't Miss

Caney Church

Wednesday evening service began with singing praises to the Lord. Bro. Hi Lambeth took charge of the service by taking prayer requests and praise reports. Bro. Jim Lafferty led in prayer. Bro. Hi Lambeth read Matthew 7:13-14, 21-23. When God’s people turn their back on Him He will not bless them. We have to try to live His way by His word to be blessed. We had a good discussion. We always learn something when we meet together. We may be few in number, but the Lord is always with us.

Caney met together Sunday morning with heavy hearts. Bro. Bobby Combs has went to his Heavenly home. He will be missed, but we can rejoice knowing where he is and know we will see him again.

Sunday school opened with congregational singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. He took prayer requests and praise reports. Sis. Melba Austin led in prayer. Jack read Titus 3:8-14 for our devotion. After an interesting Sunday school lesson Happy Anniversary was sung to Jeff and Tracy Shipley. God bless them. They are a true blessing to our church. Maddie Shipley sang while offering was received.

Praise and Worship began with testimonies from Lorrinda Coulter, Tracy Shipley, Jeff Shipley and Vanessa Mills. We continued with congregational singing. Melba Austin did special music. Pastor Bill Austin brought his message from Matthew 6:19-22, I Timothy 6:6-15. What kind of treasure are you laying up? Worldly or spiritual? Only the spiritual will last. Jesus is the greatest treasure. Turn and seek Jesus today. Time is short.

Due to visitation for Bro. Bobbie Combs church was cancelled.
