Mt. Tabor Church

Due to the holiday, we had several folks missing, however, we had a great Sunday school lesson and worship service. We have many to pray for, and some to be thankful for better health.

Brother Ric read the story of Mary and Martha which was on doing what Jesus would have them do. We know it is needful to make preparations for food, etc., but how much more to be sitting and learning at the feet of Jesus.

The children did memory verses which were great, keep up the good work.

Camp is beginning this week, be in prayer for that. We will be sending food, Friday.

We will host the Gideon speaker, Sunday morning. Brother Ted Cain will be giving the message, as well as, showing a short video, please join us if you can.

Everyone  celebrated in some fashion this holiday week, especially thankful for our veterans and servicemen and women.

Martin Hathcock took in a couple of celebrations, one with Jim and Jo and their families, and also, with Wes and Kim and their families.

Tom and Jewell Elliott, James and Tammy Elliott, and Floyd and Bonita Winingham, joined Mr. and Mrs. Shaun Elliott, Logan and MaKayla, Friday evening for a barbeque.

The Tom Elliotts and J.C. enjoyed cake and ice cream in honor of Bonita and Vicky Burnett’s birthdays.  Bonita and Floyd returned to their Nebraska home, Saturday morning.

Harold Hutchison continues to enjoy visitors while he is recuperating: Jim Turner, Hellen Blakey, Jim and Maxine Lund, Don and Evelyn Bryan, Kim, Danny, Morgan and Dylan Clements, Justine Shumate, Jeff, Kristy and Steven Tackett, Floyd and Bonita Winingham, Bill Johnson and Larry Stewart.

Ronnie and Pat Lansdown had their children and families home for the 4th of July holiday: Jill and Patrick O’Neal, Ada, Ok.; Doug and Kristi, Jadon and Kayley, West Plains; and David and Casey Guerin and two girls, of Mt. Vernon. They celebrated the fourth on Saturday with food and fireworks. Jill and Patrick also visited Grandma Myrl, who is feeling a little better. Jeanne and Paul have been to visit her, also.
