Gentry News

After starting our day with prayer singing, we studied in Sunday school about trusting in God’s promises. To fully reverence God, one must fully obey him.

Happy Birthday wishes went out to Lacie Beard and Rod Welker.

Happy Anniversary wishes went out to Pastor Keith and Regina Lafferty for 32 years of marriage.

Our special song was by the Gentry Singers.

Saturday was Gentry’s Fun Day and Bible School and it was a success. The children came even if the day started with rain.  They learned about Jesus and did crafts. Those in charge of the game activities were Doug Miller, Casey Merrifield and Kolton Davis and they made it so much fun for the kids.

Our next Fun Day and Bible School will be July 12th from 4 to 7 p.m. with our Fourth of July Celebration and fireworks afterwards, so mark that on your calendar.

June 15th will be our Father’s Day fish fry. We will eat about 5 to 6 o’clock so come out and fellowship with us.

Our sympathy goes out to the Richard Mitchell family.

Pastor Lafferty’s morning message was from Mark, chapter 11. After Jesus cleaned out the temple from the den of thieves, He said my house should be a place of worship and prayer. This is a lesson for us all. When we enter our church, our one and only purpose should be reverence and praise to our Lord Jesus.
