Trucks from the Goodhope Fire Department – followed by trucks from many other area departments, ambulances, law enforcement and other emergency response units – led the funeral procession Monday for Goodhope Fire Chief Richard Mitchell who succumbed to cancer on Friday, June 6, one day before his 52nd birthday. In the photo above, the procession is passing under an American flag hoisted by Logan-Rogersville Fire Department at the Goodhope Fire Station on T Highway. Also shown is the bell that was sounded for Mitchell by the Missouri Firefighters Honor Guard at the Goodhope Cemetery, and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Dept. issued a 2-way radio “final call” for Goodhope 319.
