Sunday morning service was opened with prayer requests and prayer then the Praise Team led us in some beautiful praise songs.

Brother Roberts brought the message from Hebrews 9:27, Amos 4:12, “Prepare to Meet Thy God.” Sunday evening was the 4th Sunday singing. The fish fry was rescheduled for this Sunday evening due to the stormy weather last Sunday.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Delmar’s nephew, John Goss Jr, who lived in Harrisonville, Mo. Our sympathy goes out to all the family and friends.

We have been having a nice visit with my granddaughter and her hubby, Brentyn and Synthia Bishop. Brentyn is the one I have been requesting prayer for while he was in Afghanistan. We sure are glad to have him home safe and sound.

Others visiting with us this week were Beth Stafford and friend Will, Johnathon Snelson, Dorothy Davis, Vern and Kathleen Deatherage, Nora Hunsaker, Lee Williams, Gary and Bevy Moore, Donna Bannister, Raymond Bricker, Earnie and Helen Cook.

On Tuesday, Delmar and I went with Earnie and Helen Cook to Clinton, Mo. where we visited with Uncle Hugh and Aunt Violet Morris, at the nursing home, then we went to Leeton, Mo. where we visited with Howard and Donna Morris. We then went back to Clinton where we spent the night and visited on Wednesday morning at the nursing home again before returning back to Ava that evening. It was a very enjoyable trip.

The storms that ripped through Ava on Sunday night sure tore up a lot of property for several people and businesses. We sure feel blessed though that no lives were lost in the storm. It is sad to hear of all the lives lost in Arkansas and Oklahoma from the same storm.

On Saturday, Delmar and I visited with Gerldean Carter and Keith and Donna Bannister and Brent and Synthia Bishop.

Until next week, prepare to meet thy God, because we never know when that will be.
