Faith is the most powerful of all forces operating in humanity and when you have it in depth nothing can get you down

– Norman Vincent Peale

“Remember that Faith will lead you through unsteady times………O Lord my God, I cried out to you and you healed me,” Psalm 30:2.

As we look forward to this coming weekend  being Memorial Day, let’s all take time to remember our men and women who are currently protecting our country as well as all those who have served and died over the years so that we have freedom to live and worship in this great country of ours. God Bless Our Troops.

Our church service opened with scripture reading from 1 Thessalonians 5:6 and prayer. We had a good group of kids in Sunday school and they did a great job of singing for everyone. We appreciate our parents, for loving their children enough to want them to learn about Jesus and to sing songs to him.  It will stay in their hearts forever.

The worship hour began with prayer request being taken and prayer was lead by our Pastor for all those mentioned. Special songs were presented by Lisa and Hazel and Loren. We appreciate those who use their talents for the Lord. Jerry began   the sermon by reading from Luke 15 about a man with two sons. It’s a very familiar scripture, but, many  lessons can be preached and taught from it. Today as I listened, it was a lesson on the love and compassion of a father toward his son. That same love and compassion is given to us by our Heavenly Father when we come to him asking for forgiveness of our sins. He welcomes us into his family with open arms and promises us  life eternal. Isn’t that wonderful!   This reminds me of the time I came to an altar, unworthy, but asking forgiveness, and how God reached down with love and compassion, saved me and welcomed me home as though I had always been His child. Our God is like that. “For God so loved the world, He gave his only begotten Son, Jesus”….John 3:16.

Sunday night Jerry preached from Acts 20. Paul was teaching the church to be firm and unmovable in its service to God. We must keep the church in honor of  Jesus Christ. It was purchased with His blood.  Our attendance is growing and we firmly believe that God is the head of our church and it will grow in His grace.  We would love to have you come next Sunday and worship with us. Sunday school at 10:00 a.m. and worship begins at 11:00. And remember, “If you don’t stand for something you’ll fall for anything! “…If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all.” Isaiah 7:9 (NIV)
