Goodhope News

Last Weeks News – The big excitement in the Goodhope area last week was the tornado that went through the area. I think all of us should be thankful it didn’t touch down just a little lower.

Janet Hunt from Colorado visited with her mother, Norma Cross, Monday and Wednesday she went to Springfield to visit with her brother, Kenny Hunt. Norma and Janet visited with Roxanna Davis one evening. Pauline Richards visited with them one day.

Kenny called his mom Friday to tell her he was going to go with his church workers from Buffalo to the Little Rock area this week to help with the clean up after a tornado hit there a couple of weeks ago.

The Goodhope Church ladies provided lunch for the Clayton family after the memorial service held for Larry Clayton at the church. He was the third man from the Goodhope Church to pass away in the past 18 months. Dick Richards and Jerry Hall were the others.

This Weeks News – These weeks are flying by so fast. It’s hard to keep up with them. Dwain Davis and Roxann and Pauline Richards helped Norma Cross fix the roof on her wellhouse Tuesday. It was damaged by the tornado that came through Goodhope last week. David Welsh and Bob Nagel got the tree off of the roof on the west end of the building. Randy Jenkins cut the trunk and limbs up.

Matt Maloney, my grandson, came from Forsyth Thursday and cut the grass and did some other things for me.

Danny and Beth Maloney from Sparta came down Saturday. They brought me a cake and some flowers for Mother’s Day.

DeAnn and Kelly, Kinsey, Kailey and Kyle Thompson took Norma and me to Rockbridge for dinner Sunday after church for Mother’s Day.

Mark 12:30-31, “And thou shalt love thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

And the second is like, namely this, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thy self, there is none other commandment greater than these.”
