Caney Church

So thankful for this beautiful weather the Lord has blessed us with. Caney met Wednesday evening to study and learn God’s word and to praise Him. Bro. Jim Lafferty was our leader this week. He took prayer requests and praise reports. Bro. Hi Lambeth led in prayer. Bro. Jim read Deuteronomy 7:1-11. God has chosen us because He loves us. It is our choice if we become His. If we choose Him we should keep separate from the world. Be a witness and example to them so they want to choose Christ. We had a wonderful time of study and discussion. We pray that others would want to come and be with us. When you come to the Lord’s house you always receive a blessing.

Sunday morning this is Palm Sunday. Bro. Bill took his text this morning from I Samuel 30:6. It was a good message from God’s word. There are times we get faint and weak in this battle of life, but we can encourage ourselves in the Lord by reading God’s word and prayer. David was a great example for us. Bro. Bill also read scripture in Isaiah 40:31 in his message. We must wait upon the Lord and we will be renewed, we will run and not be weary, we shall walk and not faint. What a treasure we have in God’s word, the Holy Bible. Let us encourage ourselves and each other. Bro. Jack Clemans of the Bradleyville General Baptist Church called and invited all to attend the Easter Sunrise service at the old ballpark pavilion next Sunday morning at 6:00. We were dismissed in prayer by Bro. Josh Essary.

On this glorious Easter morning Caney came together singing praises to the risen Lord.

Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. Prayer requests and praise reports were received. Sis. Lorrinda Coulter led in prayer. Jack read I Corinthians 15:12 for our devotion.

After a wonderful Sunday school lesson Happy Birthday was sung to LeAnn Kinyon, Wyatt Isaacs. God bless them. Maddie Shipley sang while offering was received.

Praise and Worship began with testimonies from Jeff Shipley, Kelli Clemans and Melba Austin. We then did congregational singing. Singing special music – Ethel Metcalf, Melissa Harmon, Tabitha Kinyon and Jimmy Lafferty. Pastor Bill Austin brought the morning message from I John 3:1-3. Our God is alive and one day we will see Him and we will be like Him. The tomb is empty. Jesus is coming back for those that believe. It was a great Easter message. We were so glad for our good crowd. Sunday evening service began with singing.

Bro. Jim Lafferty took charge welcoming all. Bro. Hi Lambeth led in prayer. Testimony was given by Jim Lafferty. Singing special music was Melba Austin.

Pastor Bill spoke this evening on promises. Scripture was II Corinthains 1:20-24, Isaiah 61:1-2 and Luke 4:18-19. All God’s promises are good and true. Jesus is coming and everyone will be rewarded according to our works. The world is saying they don’t want Jesus to rule over them, but their judgement will be harsh. Forr those that believe and follow Christ, we are promised eternal life.

We hope that all that came to Caney today would come all the time. We pray that all received a blessing.
