Caney Church

Caney Sunday school began with singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. He asked for prayer requests and praise reports. We are so glad for a living God who hears our prayers and answers. Sis. Ethel Metcalf led in prayer. Jack read Psalms 27:1-5 for our devotion.

After a great Sunday school lesson Maddie Shipley sang while offering was received. She did a wonderful job.

Praise and Worship began with testmonies by Jeff Shipley, Vanessa Mills and Melba Austin. We began with congregational singing. Singing special music was Ethel Metcalf and Melissa Harmon. Pastor Bill Austin took his message from I Corinthians 15:53-54. His thought was on having victory and giving thanks. We can have victory if we follow God’s way. Lets remember to give thanks for it all. We will always have battles in our lives. It is good to know others are praying when we are facing troubles. We have much to be thankful for. When we follow Christ we are on the winning side. It was a thoughtful message. Sis. Melba sang a beautiful song to close service.

Sunday evening we came together singing praises to the Lord. Bro. Bill took charge of the service. He took prayer requests and praise reports. Bro. Jim Lafferty led in prayer. Bro. Jack Essary brought the evening message. He talked about the faith of Job, reading Job 16:1-5 and 42:11. Through all his misery friends and wife that were no help he believed and trusted God. He always praised the Lord. Are we like Job? Or are we complainers? God will bless us if we follow Him. Not always with earthly things, but certainly Heavenly things will be ours. God has blessed this church with God called men and women to teach and preach for us.
