Dogwood News

What a beautiful day here in the Ozarks. We will all feel better now that we are having warmer weather. The sunshine is great.

For one reason or the other we haven’t had items in the paper for a couple of weeks. Maybe we can get back on track again.

We had 81 in attendance Sunday at Goodhope General Baptist Church. Several were out sick and of course the time change. It was good to see Freeda Richards. She was able to get back in church. She has been sick for several weeks. Sue Brown was on the sick list, also Kelly Thompson. David, our pastor, spoke from the book of Jeremiah. We had three specials – Sue Adams sang a beautiful song, David Lafferty sang and played the piano with Glen Dale on the banjo and Kenny and Annie Goin’s nephew played a beautiful song on the piano.

Bill and Sue Johnson from Claremore, OK., with the Oklahoma Baptist Church Builders, worshipped with us Sunday. Two other couples from the Builders are in Mansfield this week with them. They are at the First Baptist Church in Mansfield. They are replacing the ceiling in the church. There are several couples in the group. They are mostly in the eastern part of Oklahoma. They came to Goodhope General Baptist a few years ago, to help put the steeple on the church. Sue is the sister of Norma Cross and Pauline Richards.

Norma and Pauline was in Claremore, OK. last week visiting sister, Georgia Sanders and other relatives. Pete and Sandra Jenkins came over from Fayetteville, AR. We came home Saturday.

Plainview School had no ball games last week because of bad weather. There will be a couple more tournaments before long.

Isaiah 59:1, “Behold the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save: neither hs ear heavy, that it cannot hear.”
