Don't Miss

Monday morning, what a beautiful day the Lord hath made, hope everyone was able to get out and enjoy themselves.

Norma Cross, and I had lunch with Golda Miller and Roxie Johnson Tuesday at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center. We visited with others while there. Lavern Norman and Carl Coats are residents there now. There was  basketball games Tuesday at MOCH in Ava, the 5th and 6th grade girls won their game, the boys lost to Ava Victory.

Thursday night Thornfield came to Plainview, the boys and girls both won their game.

Danny and Beth Maloney and their son, Jason, and grandchildren, Brendan and Cannon came down Saturday and cut a load of wood. I love to see my children and grandchildren any time.

Kailey Thompson spent time with Hailey Herrell over the weekend. Kimberly Stillings called me this morning to tell me Sandy Church is having a revival at Sandy Church this week. They went last night. It sounded like God was exalted on high.

Attendance at Goodhope General Baptist Sunday, January 19 was 72.

Prayer requests were taken. Our Sunday school superintendant, Lance Stillings, obeyed the Holy Spirit and what an opening for worship! Two CD’s were played. Altar was filled.

After congregational singing, our Sunday school superintendant, Lance Stillings, asked Rev. Jerry Hawkins to pray over our pastor, David Welsh, as he stoold behind the pulpit. Dave used scripture Hebrews 4:11-12, Luke 16:19-25, Matthew 13:41-42. Pastor Dave preached a wonderful message.

The word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two edged sword.

Altar call was given and more responded. Praise His Holy Name!

A bountiful dinner was served for birthdays and anniversaries in January. Then at 2:00 p.m. several gathered in the sanctuary for special prayer for Richard Mitchell. Sue said she went to Seymour that afternoon to attend the “Homeschoolers” Christmas program her granddaughter, Kayli, was in. The program had been cancelled several times due to weather. A very nice program, they worked hard to get the program together.

David used Psalm 1:1-6 Sunday night about the character and condition of a Godly man. It was good preaching Dave.

James 1:12, “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which he hath promised to them that love him.”
