“To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven. A time to be born and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted,” Eccl. 3:1-2.
That’s how our Sunday school lesson began Sunday. We need to remember that this too shall pass. What goes around comes around again. Whatsoever we sow we shall also reap. Sis. Carol Carson is teaching this three month series.
Bro. Dewitt preached from II Samuel 11:1 and some in chapter 12 and James 1:14 about every man is tempted when he is drawn away by his own lust and enticed just as David was in II Samuel 11, but he paid dearly for what sin he committed, just as we will do also.
Sis. Loretta Dewitt preached Sunday night from Ezekiel 2:19 and 36:16-38 and 3:1-3. It was a message of hope for those that are Christians today.
They were a rebelious people that the prophet Ezekiel was sent to preach to. People are still the same way today. They want to do their own thing and rebel against what the word of God tells us.
Next Sunday will be the fourth Sunday singing at Faith Rock January 26th at 2 p.m. I hope everyone comes out and enjoys the good singing. We will be having soup and sandwiches at noon if anyone wants to come early. Sis. Sybil Gheer does a great job bringing it all together. Our Pastor suggested that Faith Rock Church have a fifth Saturday night singing and we’re going to see how that goes. I think theres only 3 or 4 Saturdays that come the whole year, so that sounded okay to us.
Sis. Dee Murdy is still in need of prayer, as she is still in the hospital. Sis. Leisa Rushton spent a couple of days in the hospital but is doing okay now. Bro. Ross Martin is very much in need of a touch in his body.
We want to wish Bro. James and Sis. Debbie McHaffie a happy 24th anniversary and Bro. Ross Martin a happy birthday and a happy anniversary next week to Bro. Glen and Sis. Wanda Ray.
We will be quilting tomorrow as usual which is Wednesday. Last week, we had visitors come by and we want to thank them for the quilt pieces they brought by and gave us.
This week we are taking lunch so we won’t go out in the cold. Sis. Janel Mitche and I both have knee problems so that will be good for us not to climb steps too much. We appreciate the Brook family for the quilt pieces.
