This news will be two weeks old because of the weather. Winter came a little early this year. We just wasn’t ready for it.

Matt Maloney, my grandson came up on Monday befure the snow, and got rid of most of the leaves in my yard. I sure was glad to get that done. I also was glad I went to Ava on Tuesday and got supplies.

Wednesday after school I picked Kailey and Kyle up. We went up to the Mt. Tabor Cemetery to pick up old flowers and put new ones on Dick’s grave. It was really getting cold by the time we got home.

Saturday morning here come a tractor with a blade, cleaning the snow off my driveway! I didn’t know who it was, but found out from Tony that it was our neighbor, Pat Williams. I called to thank him, so Tanya and I had a nice visit.

Goodhope General Baptist Church didn’t have service on Sunday. We were all snowed in. They had service Wednesday, but I didn’t go.

Norma Cross and I did some shopping one day and had lunch at Ruby’s Café. I went to Branson with the Thompsons – Kelly, DeAnn, Kinsey, Kyli and Cole. We had a good dinner, but I can’t remember the name of the steakhouse.

Sunday the 15th today I was ready to go to church. After talking to Tony I didn’t go, he told me from our road all the way around Jim Broken’s curve and up the hill was solid ice. After the rain and snow came it melted yesterday and it froze. He said I might get out, but not get back home. Anyway it scared me off. Norma called after she got home from church. She didn’t get a head count, but there was a lot of people who did come out so praise the Lord for all those that did.

Worship service at Goodhope General Baptist began with prayer requests, congregational singing, children’s penny march with 48 in attendance. Lots were out from church service due to snowy weather and some were traveling.

Susie Adams sang a beautiful special.

We welcomed our visitors and invite them to come back. Pastor Dave’s message was different passages of scripture. It was a spirit filled sermon. He used Matthew 7:15-23, Revelations 2:1-2, 13:11 and II Corinthians 11:13, “Beware of False Prophets.”

Wednesay night, December 11, Sue Brown on keyboard, Cindy Winslow sang and Susan Sinclair on guitar and sang for Jim Cudney and Vernice Berry’s wedding at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.

I was talking to Freeda Richards Saturday and she has been snowed in like the rest of us. She hasn’t got to visit much with her brother, George Haden and his duaghters from Washington. They got here the day it snowed. They have been staying with sisters, Betty Jenkins and Lenora Burton. Maybe the weather will clear up before they have to go home.

Matthew 2:21-23, “And she shall bring forth a son, they shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled wich was spoken of the Lord by the prophet saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child and shall bring forth a son and they shall call his name Emmanuel which being interpreted is God with us.”

We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
