Flag Pole Erected at Ava Water Park

Through the efforts of Ava VFW Post 5993, Douglas County American Legion Post 112, the City of Ava, and several businesses and individuals, the Ava Water Park now has a new flag pole. Meeting Tuesday morning for somewhat of an informal dedication were, from left: Mayor Eddie Maggard; Terry Chastain, VFW; Bill Huffman, American Legion; Larry Morrison and Jerry Garrison, VFW; Ken Clouse, Ava Building Center; Irv Reynolds, VFW; city employees David Stout, Sherry Wallace, Greg Chamberlain, Jim Mills and Jimmy Johnson; Mark Sanders, Sanders Rock Products; and city employees Jeff Coffer, Kevin Richards and Toby Sheppard.

At left is the plaque that sits at the base of the flagpole.
