Gentry News

After opening prayer and singing, we studied in our Sunday school class about how God works through people and uses their natural gifts or works for leading of the Lord for service and worship.

Our special song was by the Gentry Singers.

It was good to see Bro. Bob and Ella Mae Huskey back from Tennessee where they attended his sister’s funeral.

Last week I went over to Kirbyville and had lunch with my friends and neighbors that I use to attend church with, Jo Breedon, Mamie Rogers, Juanita Reed, Eutha (Lowry) Marbut and Melba Austin.

On Wednesday nights until Christmas the choir is going to be practicing our Christmas songs for the program instead of Bible Study at 6:30 p.m.

Bro. Keith Lafferty brought the morning message from Matthew, chapter 20. We are blessed by the terms of God and many may be called, but few chosen and we should be prayed up, packed up and ready to go. Salvation is our gift from God.

In our evening service after singing and testimonies, our special song was by Joanne and Rod Welker and Gentry Singers.

Bro. Lafferty brought his evening message from Psalms 142. When we have burdens, bring them before the Lord and pour out your complaint and soul to him. He will hear your cry as He did for David. God is in charge and control.
