Faith Rock Church

What a beautiful sunny day were enjoying today. I’m really enjoying the last warm days we’ve been having. Kayla and our daughter, Sherry, gave the two little ones, Illa and Sawyer, a birthday party yesterday and we had a cookout also to celebrate the two birthdays. Illa is six years old and Sawyer Huffman, Andrew’s son will be 5. It was a beautiful day though quite windy. Several children and grandparents enjoyed the afternoon and Aunt Teresa from Branson also came and enjoyed the day with us.

We had four November birthdays at Faith Rock. We want to wish Happy Birthdays to our youngest, Ariel Conrad and Kiona Cruz, our pastors daughter from West Plains, Karlene Carson and Mary Honeycutt from Ava.

The ladies that quilt are getting the lap quilts ready to go to the nursing home. We have over sixty made. We’re getting ready to wrap them. I appreciate the ones who brought me wrapping paper for them.

We want to invite everyone to the Fourth Sunday Singing this coming Sunday at 2 p.m. at Faith Rock with Sybil Gheer. If you have singers in your church come prepared to sing or play.

We lost one of our dear ladies, Sis. Charlotte Brown. She was 87 years old. Her funeral was Saturday before last. Faith Rock set a beautiful dinner for the families. Graveside service was at Dogwood Cemetery. Sis. Betty Hesterlee and Bro and Sis. Dewitt officiated and the House to House Singers sang.

Bro. Benny’s sermon was good Sunday morning. The messge was from Romans 16:17-19 and Luke 22:31-38. We had a very good Sunday school lesson on Christian values. The disciples had came to Jesus wanting to know who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven and Jesus called a little child to them and said unless you become converted and become as little children you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven. I believe God looks on the heart of man and wants us to be always able to forgive and love each other and forgive faults in one another. There’s a scripture Matthew 15:18, “Those things which proceed out of the mouth comes forth from the heart; and they defile a man.” Children are always ready to forgive and continue on.

The Monday night music and singing is still going strong. It’s been a great help to the center. I hope to get started back regularly. We always appreciate all those that helped in any way. I hope everyone will have a wonderful Thanksgiving and may we all give thanks for what we have.
