Breedon School Reunion Held Oct. 12

The annual Breedon School Reunion was held at the Breedon Church as they have for the past several years.

Some were missing this year and some new faces were seen, for which all were glad.

Following is an attempt to name former students in attendance.

Bobby Lafferty, Joe Lafferty, Johnny Lafferty, Bobby Nelson, Billy Nelson, Jimmy Nelson, Thomas Nelson, Don Lakey, Wallace Stillings, Joyce (Thomas), Wilma Jean (Williams) Hampton and Kenneth Wiles.

Wilma Hampton says this is all she can remember.

Former teachers attending were Violet Lakey, Wilma Jean (Lafferty), and Gracie Williams. Former cooks at the school included Bertha Williams, Lucy Lafferty, and Lotus Swearengin, and maybe Edna (Johnson) Stillings who also taught at one time. These former cooks are now deceased. Bertha Williams was Wilma Jean Hampton’s mother.

Visitors and others attending are invited to come back for future reunions. It was good to have Clyde Bruner and wife, with us.

There was music, a great lunch, and an auction of gifts.

Another reunion will be planned next year.
