Ava 4-H Club Receives Grant For Maintenance

The Ava 4-H Club received the Kemper Community Service Grant once more this year. Writers of the grant were Bonnee Stafford, 4-H volunteer, and Jess Stafford, vice president of Ava 4-H.
The club will be using the grant to help with upkeep that is needed at the Ava Saddle Club.
The 4-H club youth and adult volunteers have worked at the Saddle Club picking rocks, painting on arena, re-painting the club house, tearing out old doors and installing new steel doors to the club house.
They have now decided to remove the old windows and install new insulated windows in the building.
The youth chose the Saddle Club because it is a very important part of the 4-H Club.
The 4-H Club has several youth who participate in the shows and equine activities sponsored by the Ava Saddle Club. The Saddle Club has allowed the 4-H to meet and use the facilities as needed, hosted many fun shows this season, and are willing to assist any way they can to support the youth in our community who share the same passions that they have.
The 4-H youth have played an active roll in writing the grant, planning projects, as well as working and seeing the results. They hope to also complete needed repairs to the ceiling inside the club house over the winter and replace old arena lighting with new lighting that was donated to the Saddle Club.
The Saddle Club and its members are anxious to help the 4-H complete these projects and are excited to see youth becoming involved. For more information about 4-H or to make a donation to help in these projects you may contact the local University of Missouri Extension Office or contact a 4-H volunteer.
