The Fall Champion Trail Ride led by Bud Hutchison, of Ava, began at the historical Champion Store on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 10 a.m. with a group of 16 riders. The riders traveled approximately eight miles to the Drury Store where they all enjoyed a wonderful lunch served by Jill and her employees in the rustic surroundings. They were met there by Wilma Hutchison and Mutt Stone who joined them for lunch. Over lunch, many funny stories were shared as they reminisced about days gone by. They all gathered on the front porch for a group picture and photos were also taken as they mounted up to continue the ride. The riders then traveled back to Champion where they enjoyed ice cream and snacks while visiting with Russell and Dean Upshaw, Kip and Daly Nunn, Wilda Moses and store owner Betty Henson.
