Sandy Church News

Last Week – Brad Siler was absent and Stan Humbyrd filled in as Sunday school superintendent.  We were thankful for our visitors and hope they come again.

Prayer requests were given.  Among those were Anita Smith, Debbie Hall, Avery Hendricks preaching at Seymour, Van Menzies preaching at Eastside in Springfield, our nation, leaders and our lost loved ones.  After Sunday school classes, Stan Humbyrd led us in song.  Several testimonies were shared giving praise to the Lord.

Pastor Neal prayed the pastoral prayer and read from Hebrews 3, today if you will hear his voice harden not your hearts.  In Revelations the seven letters to the churches all ended with hear what the Spirit sayeth to the church.  Let us hear his voice today.

At 5 p.m., several came for choir practice.

At 6 p.m., Pastor Neal began with prayer followed by singing and then testifying.  Many were given about our great God.   Our new choir sang.

Pastor Neal read from Hebrews 4, Psalm 95 and John 10, He is our God and we are the sheep of his hand.

Each Tuesday is prayer at 7 p.m. and each Wednesday at 7 p.m. is Bible study.  Come and be with us.  You are welcome.

This Week – Brad Siler led our devotional reading in Isaiah 51.  Happy birthday was sung to Billy Hodges and Aaron Humbyrd.

Backpack items were collected for Plainview School.  Pastor Neal did a display in front of the church of $20 worth and 150 servings of items to encourage us to do what we can to help.

LeaAnn led us in prayer after requests for sick and healing, our nation, leaders and our churches were given.

After Sunday school, Stan Humbyrd led us in song. Testimonies were shared about our Great God.  Our choir sang. Pastor Neal read from James 5, be patient unto the coming of the Lord.  Be patient, stablish your hearts.  Let us not look at now, let us look at Jesus.  Don’t be discouraged, our God is great.

At noon, we had our monthly fellowship dinner.  At 2 p.m., some went to Mt. Tabor for the ordination of Brother Ric Engelhardt.  Pastor Neal prayed the prayer of dedication.  Brother David Welsh gave the charge.

We came together at 5 p.m. for choir practice.  At 6 p.m., Pastor Neal prayed followed by singing and testimonies.  Brother Ernie sang several songs and played his guitar.  Pastor Neal read from Hebrews 4, the gospel preached, not being mixed with faith, did not profit them.

Tuesday at 7 p.m. is special prayer meeting and Wednesdays at 7 p.m. is Bible study in Exodus.

Next Sunday at 2 p.m. will be the ordination service for Brother Van Menzies, a young minister in our church.  He is the son of Harold and Juanita Menzies and the grandson of the late Paul and Leona Comer, who were charter members of Sandy Church.  Thank God his faithfulness continues throughout all generations.

Sunday, October 27th is our annual hayride over the hills over Glade Top Trail at 4 p.m. for food and the evening services.  All kids are welcome.  Come and be with us.
