Sandy Church

We were grateful for a large crowd at the ordination service at 2 p.m. for Brother Van Menzies.  Many family and friends came to show support for him.  He is going to be Interim Pastor at Eastside General Baptist Church in Springfield.  Our prayers are with him and Cody as they go, but we will miss them.  Pastor Neal did a great charge for him and Brother Galen Chambers presented him a Certificate of Ordination.

Kim Humbyrd prayed the beginning prayer after several requests were given followed by singing.

After Sunday school, Aaron Humbyrd prayed the offertory prayer as he and Kevin Hodges received our Lord’s tithes and offerings with LeaAnn Crum at the piano.

Danny Johnson led us in song. Testimonies were given.  Pastor Neal read from Hebrews 4, there remains, therefore, a rest to the people of God.

At 6 p.m., Pastor Neal began with prayer followed by singing and testimonies.

LeaAnn and Erin Crum sang. Pastor Neal read from Hebrews 4, Psalm 20 and Revelation, for the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword.  The word of God is living.  We have a book of living words.

Next Sunday, October 27 at 4 p.m. we will be leaving the church for our annual hayride across the hills to Glade Top campgrounds for a cookout and evening service.

Each Tuesday at 7 p.m. is special prayer time.  Each Wednesday at 7 p.m. is Bible study in the book of Exodus led by Pastor Neal.  He is a busy man doing four services a week.

Come and worship with us.  You are always welcome in our Lord’s house.
