We have had more beautiful weather the past week with some rain thrown in.

Norma Cross was in Ava Wednesday. She stopped by Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center to spend some time with Goldie Miller, Irene Richards and Roxie. Irene had cataract surgery the week before. She said she would get the other eye done next week.

Norma and Kenny Hunt and I went to Ozark Friday. We had lunch at Village Inn with cousins J.D. Todd from California, Renee St. Johns and granddaughter, and Steven Smith and wife, Pam. We were there to celebrate our Aunt Vi Twibble’s 94th birthday. She is the daughter of the late George and Dora Applegate. Her sister, Ann, had her 91st birthday in July. These are the only two left out of eleven children.

Goodhope General Baptist attendance for worship serice was 69. Several were out for different reasons. The children’s church children had two specials – what a fine job they did singing. We are very proud of our children. They are the church of tomorrow.

Pastor Dave used scripture Rev. 4:1-13 and Rev. 22. Wow! What a sermon!

This past week Ron, Judy and Jerry and Dianne came down and helped Sue with more outside chores and getting more wood up. Sue said they are trying to get ready for winter.

Both Thompson girls had games last week. Kinsey plays softball for Ava High School and Kailey plays basketball for Plainview. As usual they both won some and lost some.

Psalm 121:1-2, “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord which made heaven and earth.”
