Mt. Tabor Church News

After singing, prayers, and devotional, we had a very interesting Sunday school class, the main theme being, “Is anything too hard for God?” What an inspiring story of Abraham and Sarah.

Brother Ric read Isaiah 41:10-14, for his thought, fear not. He pointed out some different views of “fear.” Several of Brother Ric and Lisa’s families were with us in the early service.

Ordination services were held at the church at 2 p.m., conducted by Brother Galen Chambers, for Brother Ric. Brother David Welsh preached the message, followed by the laying on of hands of the ordained. There was a large group attending, almost Ric and Lisa’s entire family, and several from White River Association, where Ric is now an ordained minister.  It was a very happy day for Brother Ric, he has been working toward this for several years, our prayers are with him. Refreshments were enjoyed after the service.

It was a blessing to have Sister Mae Cox able to attend the ordination service, thanks to Donna.

Congratulations are in order for MaKayla Elliott and Logan Elliott, for winning awards at Bible Quiz, Saturday, in Rogersville.

MaKayla was also celebrating her 10th birthday, Saturday. Grandparents, James and Tammy Elliott, and great-grands, Tom and Jewell Elliott were there, besides her family.

Tom and Jewell Elliott attended a birthday party last week in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Spencer.

Harold and Kay Hutchison attended the Olde Iron Club Tractor Show, last Saturday, in Cabool.

Kay Hutchison attended the singing Sunday night at Girdner Church.

Happy 20th birthday to Dylan Clements, on Oct. 15. Dan, Kim, Morgan, Dylan and Sarah Claussen visited with Carl Clements and shared cake with him.
