Glenda Pauline Hays, 93

Glenda Pauline Hays, 93 years, passed to Heaven on Oct. 16, 2013 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, Mo.
Glenda was born Aug. 6, 1920 in Noble, Mo., to Joseph and Nellie (Piland) Warrick. She graduated from Thornfield High School.
Glenda was a resident of the Ava community for many years. She grew up in the Noble community in Ozark County. Her aunt, Maud Warrick, helped raise Glenda after the death of her mother.
On July 25, 1953, Glenda and Dennie Hays were united in marriage in Mtn. Home, Ark. Glenda was retired as a secretary from working with the ASCS Government Office. In her early years, she taught at many rural one room schools in Ozark County. Later on she served as a secretary for Ava Public Schools.
Glenda was recently saved and was proud to be a Christian! She enjoyed visiting with her friends on the telephone. She also loved caretaking her home, her flowers and traveling with Dennie to Army reunions. Glenda was blessed with an amazing memory and shared that.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dennie, in 1996, and a nephew, Hervil Warrick.
Glenda is survived by two nephews, Larry Warrick, Wasola, Mo., and Jim Warrick, Bay City, Mich.; and two nieces, Alice Fleetwood, Ava, Mo., and Patricia Bergener, Springfield, Mo.; several great nieces and great nephews and other relatives and friends.
Graveside services for Glenda will be Friday, Oct. 18, at 10 a.m. in the Ava Cemetery with Pastor Oren Alcorn officiating. Memorials may be made to Peters Cemetery or donor’s choice of charity. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Mo.
