Opening with prayer to start our service was Doug Miller.

Our Sunday school lesson was on the promise of the land God gave to Abraham and his descedents. We are to acknowledge His word, promises and obey it.

Many prayer requests were brought before the Lord, among them were Ronnie Thomas having surgery this week, Brandon Johnson, Ashley McMaster, Mandy Young and so many others.

Our sympathy goes out to the family of Janet Perrry who passed away Friday.

It was nice to see our young boys, Jackson Beard and Doyle Young taking up the offering. God always has things we can do.

Our special song was by Wanda Casady and Pauline Welker and one by the children of the church. Our future Gentry choir.

Gentry is planning a Saturday Harvest hayride with food and fun, October 19 at the Bob Leonard Farm at 5 p.m.

I spent last weekend over in Branson and attended a women’s meeting at Brookside Church and in the evening my son, Kevin, and I went to a bluegrass gospel singing at the Mincy Church.

The church is starting to do the Christmas shoeboxes this year and have boxed filled and returned, the end is November 17th.

Bro. Cory Yates brought our morning message from Jonah, chapter one. Jonah is like us, he didn’t obey when God called Him. God, help us to move out of our routine and comfort zone when He calls us for His purpose.

Faye Allen had her sisters visiting her and Harley this weekend, they made a trip to Branson.

In our evening service our special song was by Bob Huskey and one by Faye Allen and sisters.

Bro. Bob Huskey brought our evening message from Psalms, chapter 42. Sometimes we feel down and wonder where God is. We can’t always go on our feelings, we need to be reminded nothing can separate us from the love of God. So just lean on Him and keep praying.
